A scare!

We are now hitting 34 weeks and you know when the time is near, you are trying to be very careful because one more month to go, you will be meeting your little one. But as much as you trying to be very careful, some how things won't go your way. And this is scary... I alsmot phobia of walking now , that I try to walk as slow as possible. And ensure that the floor is clear, that I won't miss any steps and fall.

The story went like this. I woke up on a Sunday morning, cooked and settled some house works before the little girl is awake. I completed everything that I should, and she was still sleeping, so I decided to mop the floor. Halfway mopping, she was crying cause nobody was in the room. So, I quickly mopped before I go and grab her. But, the floor was slippery and papppp... I fell! I was in shocked, pregnant woman fall down! This is really scary that I called Justin and he was a little panic as well. Thank God, I don't feel pain in my tummy neither do I have any bleeding/leaking. Everything was good, except for some bruises on my knee and some pain on my arm. At least there's no pain on my tummy. Thank you God for your protection!

After this fall, I have been monitoring our baby's movement regularly and me being a little paranoid or when my mind goes wild, I will be wondering if my baby is moving and kicking like usual. Even though my baby is moving and kicking, sometimes I still doubt, whether the kick is as hard as last time or mild kicks. To cast away all those worries, we prayed and decided to go for checkup the next day, to ensure that everything is fine.

So, off we went to the hospital for checkup the next day. Appointment was full and we are not in the waiting list as well. We decided to just hop into the hospital as early as 8am and hopefully Dr Paul arrived early that day. And he did! He arrived at 8am, Justin told him I fell and immediately, before waiting for the nurse to arrive, he quickly check on me.

Here's the updates on 34 weeks.
1) Baby is now 1.8kg! Yippiee!
2) Baby's heartbeat is strong!!
3) Baby is active!!
4) Baby is measuring right on track!!
5) Baby is growing well!
6) Amniotic fluid is great as well!

Basically, everything is perfectly fine and we do not have to worry anymore! It is all by His Grace and Blessings that we are all WELL! Thank you God!

Here's our little one at 34 weeks! =D

Difference in Number Two..

All pregnancies are special, but your first tends to get a bit more of the red carpet treatment than any pregnancies that follow. =/
Here are some serious vs hilarious points pregnant with baby number two...

Pregnancy #1 : We follow everything by the book (week 1 to week 40), the {do's and don'ts} . We read all about pregnancy, childbirth, environmental toxins, childcare, etc. We bought several pregnancy magazines and diligently read them page by page.
Pregnancy #2 : The books that we follow now? "Counting numbers" "Baby's first words" and all these are Ashlynn's books.

Pregnancy #1 : I finished several packs of Anmum Materna in the first month and lots of packs in the entire pregnancy.
Pregnancy #2 : I'm in my 28 weeks today and I just opened my 2nd box of Anmum Materna. =(

Pregnancy #1 : We eat a perfect balanced diet of meal {fish, chicken, vege, soup} ensuring that baby grabs good nutrients. Never dare to try any korean food, bbq, japanese food, or whatsoever.. only pure Chinese food
Pregnancy #2 : Ice Cream, korean food, japanese food (except sashimi), hawker food, asam laksa... and in my 2.5 trimester, I started to add in more balanced diet in my every meal.

Pregnancy #1 : Baby kicks? I don't feel it .. is my baby ok? Worry and panic kicking in every now and then!
Pregnancy #2 : With my baby number 2, baby boy is definitely more active and kicking most of the time, so.. I'm not that worry. =)

Pregnancy #1 : Gained 1kg every month and at the end of the pregnancy, I gained a total about 10kg.
Pregnancy #2 : Gained my very 1st kg in the 4th month.. and up to date, 28 weeks, I've only gained 6.8kg.

Pregnancy #1 : First trimester nausea was not that bad, only steam fish makes me sick but my appetite is still as good.
Pregnancy #2 : First trimester nausea was a bit different, no appetite from week 1 to week 16 and now.. full of appetite. I can just eat non-stop.

Pregnancy #1 : We started to choose names for our baby at week 20 and we already have a large collections of them.
Pregnancy #2 : Week 28 and we still do not have any collections. All names suggested do not seem to have the "love at first sight" feel.

Pregnancy #1 : Heartburn only started to make his appearance at the end of 3rd trimester.
Pregnancy #2 : Heartburn started as early at 2nd trimester, approximately around 18 weeks!

Pregnancy #1 : Had two times of giddiness and we rushed to the hospital twice for checkup.
Pregnancy #2 : So far, no signs of giddiness and keeps our fingers crossed. NO !

Pregnancy #1 : Pregnancy seemed to go so slow and we were counting down almost every week for baby's grand arrival.
Pregnancy #2 : Sometimes I even lost count which week I'm in and in a blink of an eye, we are now in 3rd trimester! Time definitely pass by faster with the 2nd....

Pregnancy #1 : We bought our baby clothes and essential kits at week 19! And we go all pinkish, purplish, flowerish, girlish....
Pregnancy #2 : We still buy, and this time we choose more of the bluish greyish boyish colors!

Pregnancy #1 : Diligently took baby bump photos
Pregnancy #2 : We have already missed out quite a number of them... and hopefully I will not stay behind again.

Pregnancy #1 : Ultrasound pictures were not free at SDMC and one piece cost RM5. And we begged the Dr for free pics.
Pregnancy #2 : Freeflow of ultrasound pictures {we even demand which and what type of picture that we want} and we even took video during our checkup!

I'm just so determined to make sure that I do the same for all my pregnancies and in this 2nd pregnancy, I'm already slack a little. Hopefully to keep my engine running.. =)

The fun part about pregnancy is ...

Feeling your baby moves and kicks!!

By far, this is the most exciting journey in a pregnancy. Forget the heartburn. Ignore the no-appetite nausea moment. And remember those wonderful kicks! Feeling a life inside you moves and kicks and squirms around in your little belly... what more should you expect? This is already the best feeling ever on earth! Nothing beats it...

Baby boy is one active guy.. He moves a lot and I love it much. It's not pain yet, but it's full of fun feeling those squirms. But, the moment I put my hands on my belly, baby boy stops squirming. Little boy knows how to play hide and seek...=D

Looking at the waves on my belly, I smiled. I wanted Ashlynn to look at those waves, but this big sister would just go "Hi", lies down on my belly and kisses little brother. This is already sweet enough ... I just can't wait for the day little boy arrives and capture the first moment, when big sister meets little brother!

God is awesome! I love my pregnancy.. I love this moment ... I bottled up these priceless experience.. And I will remember it forever! I love all my babies! ;)

It's a baby ........... boy or girl?

{31 December 2012, 10.30am}

I was thinking how to go about with the gender reveal... a blue or pink socks on the belly? A chalkboard writing Girl or Boy? But at the end of the day it's still a girl or a boy.. .and at the end of the day, it's still our baby. Our second child....

So, the most perfect way to announce is the way he or she announced to us!
The most exciting place to be was in that ultrasound room (unfortunately daddy was busy with work and he missed the grand reveal)
And the next best thing ? Is to know our baby is perfect and healthy......

And, our precious baby is a ................

Our Baby BOY!

We are over the moon, excited for this blessing in our life... A baby boy! We have a baby girl and now a baby boy, and I couldn't have asked for more. I feel COMPLETE! But wait, we are still going for baby no3, and then, it's a perfect little family of ours. Thanking God for this wonderful miracle, praying for more wisdom, learning the ropes to be a boy mama .. and we are so ready for his arrival!

Soak in the moments....

Me : Ashlynn, where's baby?
Ashlynn : Bibi ... *point her fingers to my belly*

Me : Ashlynn, sayang baby...

She goes towards my belly and put her head down on my belly...

She melts my heart. She's gonna be one great sister!
As the belly becomes more and more round, getting bigger and bigger, we started introducing the baby belly to the little girl. That she knows mommy is carrying a little baby and this little baby gonna grow up to be her playmate at home.

I'm all excited when I know little baby will arrive in 4 months time! I just can't wait for May! Many plans running in my head and I do hope this time round, breastfeeding will be successful that little baby will feed like a champ. I hope the breastfeeding will last up to 1 year since I didn't achieve my 1 year goal with Ashlynn.

We are restructuring our master room and guest room. Master room will be the room for me and little baby and the guest room will be for daddy and Ashlynn. When little baby sleeps through the night, we will all doze off in one room! Many many plans running in my head and I just need to kick my butt, get up and start working.

I'm so excited with this new addition in the family, we are now family of FOUR! Amazing! =D

Detail Scan at 20 weeks - The BIG reveal!

31 Dec 2012, 10.25am.............

After our Taiwan trip, we went for a checkup on Monday, 31 Dec. Unfortunately, the hub was busy with meetings and I went in for checkup alone. We are now in 20 weeks and it's time for detail scan. The moment I entered into the consultation room, the Dr asked if I knew the gender of my baby and I answered no. He asked if I would like to know the gender and of course, I said yes. I have been waiting for this moment so long..................

The Dr checked thoroughly from the head to toes and everything develops well within our baby. Our baby is indeed a perfect gift from above! Thank you God! And lastly, the thing to check is the Gender! The big reveal is happening!

My heart was pumping pretty fast as he said, Now we will see if it's a boy or girl. Lol... he made me extremely nervous because it will be the day to know whether we are having two sweeties at home or 1 sweetie and 1 handsome pie. Haha!

Honestly, either one I'm happy. If it's a girl, she's still my precious.. and if it's a boy, he's still my precious. So, why care so much of the gender? But of course, parenting girl and boy aren't the same, so I would like to have the chance of parenting both genders! It's gonna be so much of fun ..........

I was in Taiwan last week and looking at the guys working hard carrying the heavy duty luggage, deep down in my heart, I'm hoping that it's a boy! I need a son at home to do such things.. But, I quickly divert the "hope for" away.. because what if it's a girl, I do not want our daughter to feel that she's unwelcome... Baby, no matter girl or boy you are, we love you THE same!

You see, this 2nd pregnancy, everyone wants to know what you are hoping for and looking at the pretty girl next to me, surely they say" A girl, and you must want a boy next". How much pressure it is, but all I do was smile and said "Girl or boy, as long as my baby is healthy, I'm a happy mom. Boy or girl is not decided by me, but by God and whatever that He gives, he gives it perfectly" That's truly from my heart....

I'm beyond blessed that I'm now a mama... and I'm going to be a mama to our 2nd baby soon.... so, what we hope for and what others hope for our 2nd baby to be... its no longer important. Because... what matters... my baby no2 is on his/her way!

Big reveal will be in the next post ........... bonus with a picture of our sweet baby! =D

Nausea....

Nausea is kicking in, but the major problem is I'm not able to vomit out. This has been going on for the past few weeks. I got the feeling of wuuu-wekkkk, but when I rush to the toilet, nothing comes out. The greasy feeling is stuck inside and I'm feeling so uncomfortable.. but on a side note, I'm glad that I have these symptoms, mainly to know that our baby is Growing!

Checkup in 2 weeks time... I wish the time could come faster, that I say goodbye to 1st trimester, welcome 2nd trimester with a big smile and then no more secrets between friends/colleagues who are wondering what's wrong with me lately. =)

God is good!

Gynae Visit at 8 weeks 6 days

Thank you Lord! All worries gone when we saw our baby developing so well, with such a strong heartbeat. God is good!

As usual, I breathed a breath of relieved when I saw our baby's flickering heartbeat. Dr Paul was glad as well. He said I found what I wanted to see, that's your baby's heartbeat. I smiled. Yes, my baby's heartbeat. *melts*

At least I know everything is well, our baby is well, our baby is good, our baby is growing... everything is perfect. Our baby is now 2.11cm. How much our baby has grown. The last checkup at 6 weeks, our baby measured 0.591cm. Go baby Go! Stay healthy and strong!

The next checkup will be on 5 Nov whereby we will do a down syndrome scan. 3 weeks to go. Pray that everything goes well. Our baby is perfect and healthy.

Oh yeah, this time round, the checkup is cheaper. RM90 only. Well, PCMC is more relax compare to SDMC especially when we do our checkup early in the morning. =)

6 weeks 5 days - First visit to the Doctor!

It was our first time to PCMC with Dr Paul Tay and we had a good experience even though the first visit was quite expensive compared to SDMC. It cost us RM194 for first visit, but the subsequent visit, it will be cheaper. Let's see how low it can go...

We entered the consultation room and Dr Paul greeted us with a smile. I still miss Dr Lee (my previous gynae), he's a straight forward guy, and every time I asked him a question, I can expect what the answer gonna be. Sometimes he's funny, sometimes he's serious.. but most of the time, he will go straight to the point.

Well, back to Dr Paul. He keyed in all my previous records into the system and we roughly know that giving birth in PCMC is slightly higher than SDMC. I told him that I was on Duphaston and he said if I feel better with it, just continue with 1 tablet 3 times a day, until 10 weeks.

After everything, it was time for scan. My heart pumped faster than usual, hoping to see our baby implanted at the right place and growing well. And, of course, a strong heartbeat.

Thank God! Everything went so well, the first thing I checked on my baby was the heartbeat. When I saw the tiny heart flickered consistently on the monitor, I breathed a breath of relieved. Thank you God! We saw the sac, we saw our baby, we saw the flickered heartbeat, we heard the heart beating consistently ...... everything is so great!

Can you see our baby in this monitor? I already fell in love with him/her! Can't wait to go through another season of pregnancy and labor and taking care of newborn and sleepless night.... but as long as my bub is growing well, it's all worth it. Even though I already have the experience of taking care of a newborn baby, but when the time comes, it's all new again and I'm sure I'm gonna be nervous. Lol. =D

I'm so happy! Baby no2 is on the wayyyyyyyyyyy..................................

Oh yeah, it was so coincidence that Ashlynn was born on 28 Sept, 12:13pm and we had our first scan on baby no2 on 28 Sept, 12:13pm too!!! Both are my precious!! =DD

The day we found out .................

This picture was a bit of outdated, it was taken today only, but overall, you definitely can see a big smile on this face, the day we knew we are having baby#2 and the day we knew life is going to be extra challenging with a toddler running and a newborn baby and the hubby is busy with Masters. Life is going to be so different, we have envisioned how it is going to be, most important is we will sail together as a family.

Pray that all goes well, our baby is well developed, he/she is growing strong!

We've scheduled an appointment with Dr Paul Tay at PCMC this coming Friday, 28 Sept 2012, on his/her big sister birthday. And baby2 is going to be 6 weeks 5 days, exact day when we had our first checkup with Ashlynn. So coincidence. I just can't wait, really pray that all goes well........... =D

Week 5 Updates!

I'm now in my week 5, I've not scheduled appointment with my doctor and we decided to go only when we are in our 7 weeks. 2 more weeks to go and we are pretty excited. Can't wait to see our baby #2.

Most of the time, I almost forgotten that I was pregnant and I live life like normal. I lifted up my legs and only realized that I am pregnant. Lol. Nausea started to kick in this week only, and as usual, milk makes me nauseous. And I only want to eat certain food. Thinking of certain food will make me feel nausea as well.

I called Dr Lee last week and informed him about this pregnancy, and asked if I should take Duphaston. He said it does not make any difference, but it's up to me if I want to eat or not. So, I decided to eat, 1 tablet 3 times a day. Living on the safe side.... we will do what we can to keep this pregnancy healthy and strong. Oh my, seriously... I feel like hoping over to the gynae now for a scan on our baby. Be patient, in 2 weeks time we will be to see our baby with a strong heartbeat.

The usual worries came flooding in, but I've learn so much from my previous pregnancy. I have an Almighty God and He's the Creator and He is good all the time. Trust and Obey!

We've started to call Ashlynn the Big Sister and introduce her to the baby in our womb. She doesn't know anything and sometimes she will accidentally kicks my womb. Lol...... I've envisioned life with one toddler and one baby next year, it's gonna be so much of fun and at the same time tiring, but it's all worth it when you see your children growing up healthy and strong. =D

Baby, we love you!

We are having our baby#2!

Baby no 2 is on the way!!

Our second bundle of joy is a surprise to both of us because first of all, we do not really plan for baby no2 yet and secondly, we thought of working hard for baby no 2 in Jan 2013. That was our initial plan. But we are so thankful that this blessing came earlier than we expected and we believed, when God gives, He knows the best and He always gives according to His perfect timing.

How I responded when I found out I was pregnant?

My "friend" is always a punctual friend, or a very early friend and seldom a late friend. If my "friend" is late, he always late for 1 day. Not more than that... I waited for that 1 day to pass and decided to pee on the stick the next morning if my "friend" is still not here when I wake up. Strangely, I even had a dream that I pee on the stick and the stick shows a positive sign. What a nice dream to have.....

I woke up that morning, as early as 5.30am. I grabbed the stick, unwrapped the packaging, opened the cap and then peed on the stick. Even though baby#2 is not in our mind yet, but somehow in me, I WISH I am pregnant. I wish it is a positive sign. I want a baby so badly, that kind of feeling. =/ I waited anxiously for the control line to appear and then I saw a negative line... and my heart pumped faster and faster.... and slowly, a vertical line started becoming more and more and more and more VISIBLE! Oh my!!! My heart stopped a beat... I was beyond thrilled! I remember the big smile on my face! Yes! That big smile even though we found this in a surprise, not in our planning, never crossed our mind at all....

I just experience the second greatest moment in my life (the first was when we conceived Ashlynn, knowing she's growing really well)....

Feel so blessed, thankful, happy, satisfied, contented!!

I was so tempted to wake Justin up right at the moment, but I decided to let him sleep a little longer.

When I think of the word "Ashlynn the BIG Sister", it just melts my heart. I'm totally blown away with those words. So sweet.........

I can say I'm pretty ready with baby #2 coming our way... I'm so ready and my next baby, I know what I should do, what I shouldn't do, how I'm going to prepare for his/her arrival.... I have so many things in my head but most importantly is I pray that our baby is developing well in the womb.

I can't wait to hold baby#2 in our arms........................... =D
